SWEET MUSIC MONTHLY

I recently received a copy of the "Sweet Music Monthly" newsletter. It is published by a group with the same name that meets every Sunday afternoon, from 12:30 - 3:30 PM. at the Sunland Golf & Country Club in Sequim, Washington. The group is open to all musicians who enjoy practicing as a group.
What is unique about their newsletter is that it contains articles by various group members writing about their experiences and skills. It is a great model for any group that is looking to set up their own newsletter. One of the founders of the group, Robert Schmeltzer, writes a column on "Banjo Stories."

PUBLICATION INFORMATION
Sweet Music Monthly is published in Sequim, Washington 98382. Emailed and US Mail editions of this newsletter are available upon request. Annual subscription rate is $24 for 12 issues.

NEW ORLEANS BANJO RENDEZ-VOUS

Is anyone going to attend the New Orleans Rendez-vous next month? We, the banjo community, lobbied for years with L.J. Brown, Phil Wilking, and others from the New Orleans area to have a yearly convention in their city. I think we should all support the efforts to get this fine convention up and running again after Katrina. The Landmark hotel is still being refurbished so an interim site has been selected for this years festival. I think we should make an effort to attend and support the folks who are holding up their end by putting on this show.
