AL CAIOLA

Caiola served in the Marines during World War II, where he played alongside Bob Crosby. After the war, he study music composition and theory at the New Jersey Musical College.  Shortly after graduation he was hired as a staff musician at CBS and he spent the next 50 years recording in the studios for various TV shows and various recording projects.

Later Caiola signed a record deal with United Artists and had hit singles with the themes to "Bonanza" and "The Magnificent Seven."  His notoriety as a banjo player is only known by his appearance on recordings by "The Village Stompers" as a studio musician.
