BUDDY WACHTER

Buddy's mother was a strong influence in his developing interest for music.  She would play all types of music for him but it was Hey Mister Banjo by "The Sunnysiders" that led to his first interest in the banjo.
By the age of 14 Buddy was not only playing banjo but guitar and mandolin with a variety of local bands.  It was Eddie Peabody that encouraged Buddy to also learn to play the plectrum banjo in addition to the tenor banjo. At age 17 Buddy joined Fred Waring's Pennsylvanians band.  In 1980 Buddy began taking  the banjo to a new level by performing with major orchestras.
