| His first instrument as a child was drums. He went on to guitar and plectrum banjo. During the 1930s he became popular by playing clubs and appearing on radio. In 1938 Clancy became a member of Lu Watters Yerba Buena Jazz Band. In his later years he appeared with Turk Murphy's Jazz Band in San Francisco. |
