HOWARD 'HOWDY' QUICKSELL

Born in 1901 Quicksell was the banjoist with "Jean Goldkette and his Orchestra" as well as Bix Beiderbecke.  Quicksell also recorded with a group that featured Red Nichol's, "The Redheads." After the Goldkette Orchestra broke up, Quicksell freelanced for a few years before dropping out of music altogether by the early 1930s and worked in a Michigan distillery.
