JACK BLAND

         Bland is best-known as the banjoist for the Mound City Blue Blowers, a group he co-founded with Red McKenzie in the early '20s out of St. Louis. He struck gold with the Mound City Blue Blowers in 1924 when the group had a hit record in the Chicago area with "Arkansas Blues."
        Over the years the group changed personnel and included names like Eddie Lang, Gene Krupa, Muggsy Spanier,  Coleman Hawkins and Eddie Condon.
