KURT ABELL

     Kurt's original interest in music was in peddle steel guitar but it never materialized.  It was the plectrum banjo that became his livelihood. He  starting playing with banjo bands but Kurt quickly progressed into playing clubs.
     He auditioned for the TV show "The Gong Show" and went on to appear on several of the shows, including a part in the movie of the same name. He was known as the upside banjo player "Count Banjola."
