LEE FLOYD III

His first professional experience playing the banjo was at the age of 13 at a Shakey's Pizza Parlor. It was Lee's father, Lee Floyd Jr., that first saw Eddie Peabody and wanted to play the banjo. The two of them took their first lessons from Ovid Metheny and Red Watson in Denver, Colorado. Later the two of them would meet Eddie Peabody and be fortunate to have lessons from the "king of the Banjo." Later Perry Bechtel would also influence Lee's career.
After high school Lee and his father played the west coast that included working at Disneyland. At 19 years of age, Lee went to Chicago to work the Red Garter. It was Sonny Helmer that persuaded Lee to move to Florida where he worked at Disney World and Rosy O'Grady's. There's not too many places Lee hasn't worked - Las Vegas, The New Christy Minstrels, etc.
