MYRON HINKLE

        Myron Hinkle (1916 - 2001) was born in Elyria, Ohio amd started playing the banjo as a teenager. During the 1940s and 1950s he led a Top 40 jazz trio (on piano) that traveled throughout the Western United States. In 1960 he was hired to play at Seattle's famous Blue Banjo.  The Owner found out about Myon's banjo past and suggested that he start a banjo band. Soon the "Blue Banjo Boys" were a big hit.
         In 1962 Myron founded the "Seattle Banjo Band." In 1965 he moved to Aberdeen, Washington and founded the "Grays Harbor Banjo Band." His longest engagement was at Sourdough Lil's 1898 Bar that lasted 24 years.
