PHIL CARTWRIGHT

        Phil Cartwright's early  engagements included the opening of the Chicago Red Garter (in 1964 with Dave Marty), the Gaslight Club in Pittsburgh, Shakey’s Pizza in Honolulu (with Ernie Carson) and the Sea World/Six Flags park outside Cleveland. In college Phil co-founded and played with  the Tarnished 6. Other jazz bands he has worked with include: the Gothic Jazz Band (London) Kid Tidiman’s New Era Jazz Band (London), Cell Block 7, Zenith Jazz Band, Jelly Roll Jazz Band, Levee Stompers and Jubilee Jazz Band.
        Currently he plays rags with small groups in Cleveland as well as a  New Orleans Band, a Lu Watters Band and a Hot Dance Orchestra.
