In 1984, Uli Heier, Günter Amendt, Bernd K. Otto and Bernhard Türk published the first edition of the famous German "Banjo Podium", a quarterly newsletter for "the friends of the 4-string banjo". In 1985 Günter Amendt, since a long time world known banjo collector and expert, founded the FIRST NATIONAL BANJO BAND of Germany with a puristic concept for such an ensemble: 10 banjos, a female singer, a tuba and washboard as rhythm section. The FNBB recorded it's first Album in 1988. In 1995 Günter again gathered some 10-15 banjo players from Düsseldorf and the Rhein-Ruhr area in Northrhine Westfalia (Germany) for a re-union of an even larger Banjo Band, now called the Duesseldorfer Banjo Club (DBC). Later in 1997 Sean Moyses from the UK joined the DBC, even as a professional playing occasionally with the "Club Band" till today.
