The ST. LOUIS BANJO CLUB was formed in 1969 and has continuously
brought the sounds of the four-string banjo to audiences for almost 40
years. The Club currently has 54 members encompassing ages from 40 to a
young 94. Fifteen or twenty players show up on the second and fourth
Thursday of each month to play music, mostly from the early 1900s, also
known fondly as the songs from “Tin Pan Alley”. The Club members strive
to keep this music alive and well for many years to come. |
