What A Wonderful World
|
Arranger Notes This is a solo ready arrangement of intermediate difficulty. You can learn this and present it anywhere and it will be well received. It is also a teaching arrangement. If you like the tune, I recommend you persevere with the single note sequences, in particular those in measures 17 and 19.
Since the tempo is relatively slow, i.e. 1/4 note = 85bpm, you may
tremolo all 1/4 and longer notes and chords, except in measure 29. It is
customary to play triplets with a stroke sequence of (down, up, down.)
In measure 29, I feel that the stroke sequence, (tremolo, quick up,
down, down, down,) is a very effective rhythmic, tamborine like
technique, especially when the chords are tamped.
The ‘Pedal’ designation (measures
17 through 20, and the last part of measure 38) as used with the
plectrum banjo usually refers to the open c-string. If you see it,
simply strike the open C-string while you play whatever else is in the
measure. |
